We love sharing our oyster story with shellfish lovers from all around the globe – and they are always fascinated to see what goes into producing the perfect oyster on their plate. With this in mind, we offer you a tour of our farm – as one of the signature points on the hugely-popular Taste the Atlantic food trail.
Taste the Atlantic is a Seafood Journey that lets you discover, taste and relish the rich wealth of delicious seafood that is farmed on Ireland’s breathtaking Wild Atlantic Way coastal route. It’s a fascinating food story designed to give you ‘the taste of place on a plate’ – and features everything from restaurants and cafes to smokehouses and farms. We are hugely proud to be part of this sensory celebration – and invite you to come along and learn more about how oysters are farmed, grown and harvested. All set against the beautiful backdrop of the Atlantic seaboard.
Our tours take 1.50 hours and offer a rare experience you’ll never forget! We take you behind the scenes to learn about how we grow our oysters from seed to fully-grown oysters, ready for our international markets and restaurants.
Share the secrets, stories and years of experience of our resident oyster farmers. We’ll take you on a gentle 200 metre walk from our state-of-the-art factory to the shore – and reveal how we grow each oyster true to our proprietary sweet, buttery fresh taste unique. You’ll sample our fine fare – and we’ll show you how to master the art of ‘shucking’ (opening) an oyster straight from our fresh waters – truly heaven itself!
Our tours are dependant on the tides – so to make sure you enjoy the best possible experience, pre-booking is essential.

At Moyasta Oysters, ‘growing perfect’ is what we do best, through commitment to the highest standards in cultivation and harvesting quality.
It takes three years for each oyster to be ready for eating and we work with the tides, day and night, to turn the oysters as they grow.
